IMPRESSIVE MOTHERING SUNDAY service was held at the Parish Church at 9.30am and was led by Barbara Usher assisted by Rev Richard Ward-Smith and Richard Painter. Hymns from Mission Praise were sung with Brenda Luxton playing the organ. Lessons were read by Barbara Wickett and Judith Smeeth. The offertory was taken up by Frank Whitehead and posies of spring flowers, lovingly prepared by Margaret Inch and Barbara Wickett were distributed to all in the congregation by Richard Painter and Barbara Usher presented everyone with pieces of paper with interesting facts on them. Barbara Usher talked about the Christian message of inclusivity and also presented everyone with a piece from a jig-saw, illustrating that we all fit together in God’s plan despite being very different from one another.
