EASTER SUNDAY:9.30am service of Holy Communion at the Parish Church was led by Rev Richard Ward-Smith. The Church Bells rang out across the Parish under the leadership of Tower Captain, Arthur Bryant, welcoming all to a joyous Easter Day service. The Church was tastefully decorated with spring flowers for Easter Day by: Margaret, Bridget and Carley Inch, Arthur and Barbara Wickett, Ginnie Painter, Dee Walker, John Cleave, Diane Costell, Sally Western, Jill Wellby and Jane Ravine. Many of the flowers were grown in the gardens and fields of people of the Parish. The usual Easter Garden at the rear of the Church looked a picture as always. Lessons were read by Richard Painter and Barbara Usher. The offertory was taken up by Shorne Tilbey and Ruth Heighton-Jackson. Rev Ward-Smith administered Holy Communion assisted by Arthur Bryant. The organist was Brenda Luxton. The congregation numbered around fifty local people and visiting families with their children which was good to see.
The 11am service at Woodford Methodist Chapel was led by Dr David Wood of Bude. The organist was Pat Jenkin and Elizabeth Hobbs played her guitar and sung during the taking up of the collection by Edward Hobbs. Lessons were read by Tracey Williams and Jonnie Hobbs. Friends from nearby Shop Chapel joined for Worship. Mini Easter Eggs were given out to the congregation at the close of the service by Lana Williams
