Encouraging signs in diocese’s Statistics for Mission report

The Diocese of Truro is showing some encouraging signs in this year’s Statistics for Mission report from the Church of England.
Churches in the diocese recorded a total 9% increase in the numbers of children attending weekly services. This was coupled with 11% more churches in 2017 reporting that they now have children and young people attending a weekly service compared to 2016’s report.

New app to help you make the most of Advent

A new app to help you make the most spiritually of the Advent season has been launched by the Bishop of London, The Rt Revd Sarah Mullally. A Good Advent is available for iOS and Android and includes an introduction to Advent written by Bishop Sarah, as well as short daily Advent meditations, suitable for Christians or people on the edges of faith who wish to make the most of the season.

New Bishop consecrated

The new Bishop of Truro, Philip Mounstephen, was consecrated on Friday, November 30 at St Paul’s Cathedral by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Justin Welby. Bishop Philip was previously elected Bishop of Truro by the College of Canons of Truro Cathedral.

SERVICE OF WELCOME
Bishop Philip will be given a warm welcome to the diocese in a service at Truro Cathedral on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Tickets are available from the cathedral by emailing here.
